Révolution is the dance show from Quebec that Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse hosts. The winner(s) gain 100 000 dollars. The judges are Lydia Bouchard, Mel Charlot, and Vincent Noiseux. In the first four seasons, the twins Larry and Laurent Bourgeois and Jean-Marc Généreux were judges.
The first episode is the audition—dancers need three votes to advance to the face-off. If they get two votes, they go to the redemption round; yet, if they get one or no votes, they are eliminated. The judges decide who will advance to the next step.
There is also a buzzer in the dancers’ room that, if you press it, will save the eliminated dancer(s) and allow them to come back.
They need to dance for 2 minutes in the audition, and for 45 seconds to redeem themselves.
In the head-to-head, they are dancing in front of each other. In other words, one group or person passes through one at a time, and then the other follows. They do that twice.
In the dance, they need to do a revolution. In which they do an acrobatic move, it could be a jump, with an object, etc. It’s supposed to be spectacular to help the judges make their choice.
In addition, there are many types of dance, such as contemporary, hip-hop, breakdancing, ballet, Salsa, Jazz, etc. There is not one type of dance that is more popular.
The first season was in 2018, and the winners were Team White, siblings Alexandre and Katherine Leblanc. At the time, Tommy Durand, a journalist for the Camaradiant, participated in the show and began his dance career.
The third season, the most popular, with 1.4 million viewers, was won by Cindy, Rahmane, and Yoherlandy.
Did you know that the show was created by Groupe Fair-Play and Québecor? Indeed, they collaborate to create a great show.
