Let’s talk about men’s fashion throughout the years. We start up by the first 20 years, 2020-2000.

So you probably know some fashion trends from these years because that’s the period that we are the most close to. In 2020, there are a lot of different styles. They are frequently called ‘’aesthetics”. Aesthetics represent lifestyle people live like or the fashion style they have or want to obtain. For men, mostly teen boys, some of the most popular aesthetics would probably be the emo-boy aesthetic, which consists to dress up mostly in black and white with jewelry, and the soft boy aesthetic which is dressing mostly in a ‘’soft’’ way and more like a skater boy.

Next up is the 2010’s. For men, there was a trend that was to wear your pants low. Almost below the but. Brands like Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, Jack Wills, Polo Ralph Lauren and Dolce and Gabbana. Basketball style sneakers were also a trend in early 2010. In 2015, the Chelsea boots took over the men’s fashion. Chelsea boots are suede boots usually worn with a casual style. Jeans started to be ripped more. The hipster style was also making his name into fashion. It would consist of wearing stuff such as beanies, ripped jeans, casual button-ups, sneakers, etc.

And finally, the 2000’s. This period was the one where brands like Forever 21 and H&M became more popular. These types of brands or stores are called fast fashion. It means that these brands or stores were and are still creating really fashionable clothes for half the price of the item that you saw on a fashion show and that look just like it. The trends were mixed at that time so clothing and accessories became cheap and everyone was able to save on designer items. Men wore more leather, puffy coats, tracksuits and silver jewelry. We would see lots of low-rise jeans, light colored polos, cargo pants, button downs etc.
