Christophe Trembley-Harnois is from the suburbs of Montréal, more specifically in St-Jérome. He is 28 years old. Out of school, he likes watching American football because he played as a running back, and Christophe even coaches it.
His favourite movie is The Lord of the Rings; he likes all the movies in this collection, but he prefers the second one.
When he was in high school, he attended Roger-Comptois only from secondary 3, as he was living in Montreal. Because his dad was a police officer, he received a promotion with the condition of moving to Quebec City.
Christophe explained that he has two kinds of different dreams he wants to realize. He categorizes the dream of travelling to Greece and Italy by cruise to see all the historical sights in these cities, alongside the goal of having a house and kids. Still, his most crucial hope is really to start a family.
In one word, he describes himself as really engaged: he likes it when the things he does go well, and he takes the time to make them, but he doesn’t let himself become a perfectionist.
Christophe’s career before becoming a teacher was as a lifeguard. He still has his card, which confirms his approval to work as a lifeguard at Village Vacance Valcartier, as an aquatic supervisor and as a first aid attendant.
Mr Trembley-Harnois has always loved history. He enjoyed his history class when he was still in school. This was his motivation for starting to teach this subject, as well as his desire to do a job that helped people. He really wanted to be useful in society.
When he first came to the school, La Camaradière, he found it really lovely and big, but he was used to it because of his high school. Christophe actually liked the school’s atmosphere and the teachers who welcomed him. He was feeling like he belonged.
On the other hand, Christophe said, “I would like to change the class structure because some students need more attention and support than others, but they are all mixed together, which makes it harder to manage.”
Mr Trembley-Harnois would teach physical education if he had to choose another subject; he almost did it for a living. A police officer is one job Christophe would choose if he had to change careers.
Christophe Trembley-Harnois is a new teacher to discover.
